30inch small yachts

This class is for yachts with a maximum size of 30 inches. Most are built from a club produced glass fibre hull moulded from an old wooden yacht. They can only use rudder control and are not allowed to use a sail winch. If a winch is fitted it must be disabled before the race.

Yachts are raced around a triangular course, arranged to suit the wind direction. This is arranged such that one leg of the course is a beat into wind with another leg a run before the wind. The number of laps sailed are decided on the day to suit the wind strength.
